ABOUT ICAPFS 2024

There are two interconnected and significant issues: tropical livestock farming and environmental concerns. Tropical livestock farming is a vital sector that provides food and livelihoods to communities in tropical regions. However, we must not overlook the impacts it has on the environment.

In recent years, we have witnessed the undeniable reality of climate change. Unstable weather patterns, severe droughts, and devastating floods have become more frequent. One of the contributing factors to climate change is the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the livestock sector, such as methane emissions from animal digestion and poorly managed livestock waste. We must acknowledge that tropical livestock farming also plays a role in these emissions.

  • Configure about the sustainability and resilience of livestock production systems and conserves biodiversity important to ecosystems. The scope includes the inheritance of traits that affect the performance, health and physical characteristics of livestock. the process of managing livestock reproduction to produce superior offspring. efforts to conserve genetic diversity and livestock species that are endangered or have important genetic values.

  • Studies on social and cultural aspects that impact people’s economic growth especially farmers and livestock industries. This includes the studies on social involvement and economic development of agriculture, either for the smallholders or industrial level

  • Animal health and welfare is the physical, mental, and general well-being of animals free from disease, injury, and excessive stress, a condition in which animals can live naturally, healthy, and free from physical and psychological suffering.

  • Livestock reproduction mainly discusses the role of reproduction in the life of living things, the development of male and female reproductive organs since before birth (prenatal) and after birth (postnatal), histology of male and female reproductive organs and their respective functions

  • Livestock production mainly discusses about the practice of breeding, farming, and care of animals especially livestock to maximise the production of said animal. It includes the animal breeding technologies and strategies, production technology, health care, and animal welfare

  • Configure about the utilisation, production and processing of feed and its consequences on livestock production parameters. It covers nutrition, feed technology and pasture science.

  • Animal Product Technology are the processing of livestock products such as meat, egg, milk, and animal by-product, development of animal-based food science, technology, and halal Issue. The scope includes food technology and animal by-product
